The 55th annual Downtown Denver Excellence awards event

During the 55th annual Downtown Denver Excellence event last April 7, 2016 more than a thousand business leaders showed up at the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center. A wide array of projects were awarded by the Downtown Denver Partnership.

Tami Door, the president and CEO of the Downtown Denver Partnership expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to celebrate the achievements that will help Denver fulfill its vision of becoming a world-class center city. Door believes that these projects have made great contributions to enhance Downtown Denver’s economic capacity.

The projects that were awarded include: 16M, the mixed used building located in Lower Downtown. The building added vitality to the formerly overlooked intersection at 16th and Market Streets.

The only fours star senior living center, Balfour at Riverfront Park also received recognition. The founder of Balfour, Michael Schonbrun accepted the award in behalf of the team.

The mixed use Co-Development Expansion Project at the Denver Art Museum and the ART Hotel was also recognized says property management in Denver. The outstanding transformation of a former parking lot is truly world class and has become the cultural core of Downtown Denver.

Lawrence Street Community Center provides homeless people a safe and clean access to basic services like bathrooms, showers, laundry facilities, food and power outlets. The community center also has a 325 seat dining center and an outdoor courtyard. The value of this one of a kind community center was recognized by Downtown Denver for its devotion to help the homeless community to become self-sufficient citizens.

Other projects that were recognized include Elan Union Station and the Regency Athletic Complex at Metropolitan State University of Denver.
